A scuba diving suffering from food poisoning shout not have been allowed to dive. Tragically, Donna Newton was last seen following a number of turtles in the Galapagos Islands.

An inquest heard the the instructor “forgot about her” as he pointed out sharks and rays to the rest of the divers in the group.

The 40 year old diver was only missed when they returned to the boat, and spotted her body floating on the surface.

Her dive buddy had surfaced earlier, so she was left along to vomit at 22m under water.

Why did her buddy leave her? Why did she dive with food poisoning? Have you ever dived when you knew you were not well, or hungover, and in danger of vomiting? Would you let your buddy dive in that condition?
